The Saidel Artisan Baking Institute (S.A.B.I) is a leading pioneer in artisan baking in Israel, combining centuries old techniques with healthy ingredients to create old fashioned baked goods, nutritious, healthy and delicious.

The aim of the institute is to restore baking to its proper place - the home, using the medium of education and training based on centuries of artisan baking experience and also on modern medical and nutrition research. To this end the institute conducts a variety of workshops that focus on technique and healthy ingredient selection.

The institute is run by master baker Les Saidel, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, an artisan baker with over 35 years experience and a student of world reknowned pastry chef Michel Suas from the San Francisco Baking Institute. He combines an in depth knowledge of baking, nutrition, physiology, cereal chemistry and health with a superb talent for teaching. He is a sought after speaker and a columnist for the Jerusalem Post on the topics of baking and health.

The workshops combine both theory and practical, hands-on experience, all conveyed in an interesting and entertaining way. There are workshops and courses for all ages and levels from children to aspiring artisan bakers looking to work in the profession.
